Electric wheelchair repair in San Jose

A wheelchair that stops working isn't an inconvenience, it's being stuck at home. That's why mobility repairs are the one thing we move ahead of everything else on the bench, why we'll come to you if the chair can't be moved, and why we keep loaners for the jobs that take more than a day.

We'll come to you

If the chair can't be transported, we service it on site. Call and tell us what it's doing — a lot of faults we can sort at your door.

You don't wait in the queue

New projects on the bench run about 3 weeks out. Mobility equipment does not. Someone who can't leave the house isn't waiting behind a scooter tune-up.

Loaners while yours is in

If it's a job that keeps your chair overnight or longer, ask about a loaner so you're not without one.

How it works

  1. Call or check in online and tell us the make, model and what it's doing.
  2. We tell you whether it's worth bringing in, or whether we should come to you.
  3. Evaluation is $80 and covers the first hour of work — if we fix it inside that hour, that IS the labor charge.
  4. You get the price before we do the work, not after.
  5. Ask about a loaner if it's staying with us.

If your chair isn't on this list, that isn't a no. Power wheelchair electronics have far more in common than the badges suggest — call with the model and we'll tell you straight whether we can help.

Questions we get

Do you come to my home?

Yes. If the chair can't be moved, we service it on site. Call (408) 271-9111 and describe the fault — we'll tell you whether it's a house call or a bench job.

Do you take insurance?

We work with Global Repair Group — if your repair is covered through them, we can handle it that way. We aren't set up with other insurers yet, so with those you'd pay us at the counter and claim the money back yourself. Ask for an itemised invoice and we'll make sure it has what your insurer needs on it.

How long will it take?

Mobility equipment moves ahead of our normal queue, which runs about 3 weeks. Simple faults are often same-day. If it's staying with us, ask about a loaner.

Can you rebuild my battery pack?

No. We stopped rebuilding packs for liability reasons and we're not going back. We will test yours, tell you exactly what's wrong with it, and replace it if that's what it needs.

What does it cost?

Evaluation is $80 and covers the first hour. Labor after that runs $80–$130 an hour depending on the work, with an $80 shop minimum. Parts are extra and we price the job before starting it.

Do I need an appointment?

No. We're open 10:00am – 7:00pm Monday to Friday, 11:00am – 6:00pm Saturday and you can walk in. Checking in online first just gets you on the board sooner.
