Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 26, 2026

Electric Transportation Repair ("ETR," "we," "us," or "our") is an electric-vehicle repair shop and NAVEE dealer at 1181 North 4th Street, Suite 10, San Jose, CA 95112. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers our website, our repair check-in and tracking system, the text messages and phone calls we use to keep you updated on a repair, and — when it becomes available — online product checkout.

We have written this policy to describe what actually happens today. Where a practice is not live yet (such as online payment), we say so and mark it clearly. If our practices change, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.

The Website

Our website is a set of informational pages hosted by Vercel. It does not have customer accounts, a shopping cart, or a login, and it does not use advertising or analytics cookies to track you across other websites. Our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information — such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of your request — in server logs used to operate and secure the site. We do not use this information to build a marketing profile of you.

Two forms on the website — "Reserve for pickup" and the contact form — work by opening a message in your own email app, addressed to us, that you choose to send. When you send it, we receive the information you put in that email (for example your name, email address, and what you are asking about). The website itself does not store these submissions.

The "Visit" page embeds a Google Maps map so you can find and navigate to the shop. Google may receive information about that map request under its own privacy policy.

Repair Check-In and Tracking

When you check in a device for repair — online through our check-in form, or in person at the counter — we collect the information needed to do the work and reach you about it. Depending on what you provide, this includes your name, phone number, email address, and street address; your preferred way to be contacted (text, email, or call); a description of the device and the problem; one or more photos of the device; and a signature acknowledging our intake terms.

This information is stored in a database and file storage hosted for us by Supabase, our hosting provider for the repair system. Photos are kept in private storage that is not publicly listable or browsable. When you check in a repair, we create a work order and give you a private tracking link containing a unique, hard-to-guess token; anyone with that link can see the status of that one repair (such as its stage, estimate, and any note to you), so treat the link like a receipt and share it only with people you want to have it.

We use this information to identify your device, perform and document the repair, prepare estimates, contact you for approvals and pickup, and keep business records of the work we have done. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

Repair Status Text Messages (SMS)

If you give us a mobile number and ask to be reached by text, we send you text messages about your repair — for example a status update, an estimate to approve, or a link to track or pick up your device. These are service messages about your specific repair, not marketing texts. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. You can stop receiving them at any time by telling us to contact you by phone or email instead. Because a tracking link may be included in a text, that link will appear in your phone's message history.

Phone Calls and Call Recording

When you call the shop, your call may be answered or assisted by an automated phone assistant. Every call is recorded and transcribed, without exception, and at the start of the call you will hear the words "This call is being recorded." We do this to look up your repair, answer accurately, keep a record of what was discussed, and improve the quality of our service. By continuing with the call after that notice, you consent to being recorded. If you would prefer not to be recorded, you can end the call and reach us by email or in person instead.

Call audio and call transcripts are kept for different lengths of time, and both are deleted automatically on a schedule rather than by hand. The audio recording of your call is held by our telephone provider, Twilio, and is deleted after 30 days. The written transcript is held in our own system and is deleted after 12 months. We may keep a short summary of a call — for example, a note attached to your work order — as a business record after both the audio and the transcript are gone.

Payments

We do not collect or store credit- or debit-card numbers. The website does not process online payments, and none of its forms ask for card details. Today, you pay for a repair or a product in person when you pick it up.

When online checkout for products becomes available, it will be handled by Shopify. You will enter your card details directly into Shopify's secure, PCI-compliant checkout, and Shopify will process the payment. Electric Transportation Repair never receives or stores your full card number. Shopify's handling of that information is governed by the Shopify Privacy Policy:

Online Store (Shopify) — When Live

We are preparing to sell NAVEE scooters, e-bikes, and related products online. When that store is live, purchases will be processed through Shopify, and the information you provide at checkout — such as your name, contact details, shipping address, and order contents — will be handled by Shopify as part of running the store, in addition to being shared with us to fulfill your order. Product information shown on our website is a periodically refreshed copy of our Shopify catalog. Until online checkout is live, the site is informational and directs you to reserve an item for in-store pickup.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only in these limited ways: with service providers who run parts of our operation on our behalf under agreements to protect it — currently Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (the repair check-in database and photo storage), Twilio (our telephone provider, which carries our calls and holds call audio and transcription), Shopify (product catalog and, when live, checkout), and your mobile carrier when we text you; and when required to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of our customers, our staff, or the public. If the business is ever sold or reorganized, customer information may transfer as part of that transaction.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep repair and work-order records for as long as needed to service your device, honor any warranty on our work, and meet our record-keeping and legal obligations. Call audio is deleted after 30 days and call transcripts after 12 months, as described above. You can ask us to delete information about you, and we will do so unless we are required or permitted by law to keep it.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including private (non-public) storage for repair photos and access controls on the systems that hold customer data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sending us sensitive information — such as full card numbers — by email or text.

Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) gives you certain rights over your personal information, subject to exceptions in the law. You can exercise them using the contact details at the end of this policy, and we will not discriminate against you for doing so.

Right to know and access. You can request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you and how we have used and shared it.

Right to delete. You can request that we delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions such as records we must keep.

Right to correct. You can request that we correct inaccurate personal information about you.

Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of; if that ever changes, we will update this policy and provide a way to opt out.

To protect your information, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before acting on a request, and you may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf where the law allows.

Children

Our services are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal or operational reasons. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page and change the "Last updated" date above. Notable changes to expect include turning on online checkout through Shopify.
